Visita Iglesia always held a sense of the adventure in us. It's a tradition among Filipino Catholics to visit at least seven churches during Maundy Thursday as a way of showing devotion in Lent. Usually the Filipinos visit more than that, opting for 14 churches, each one representing a Station in the Way of the Cross.
Maundy Thursday in 2016 was no different in that we planned to visit churches as well in Manila. We, however, decided to visit churches we do not usually travel to.
Our first stop was the Church of the Annunciation, but it was closed save for the place where they placed the Way of the Cross stations. So I could only take a picture of the facade, and the large statue of Gabriel in the front of the church. Much of my pictures involved variations of the one photo:
It was really I could take at that point
The next jump off point, one I had more pictures of, was the Our Lady of Hope Parish, which I knew only as the church behind SM North EDSA (and yes, we went to Mass there when the commute was too long to reach Mass back home)
The front had a large statue of the Blessed Virgin above the entrance

We next journeyed to UP Diliman, for the Parish of Holy Sacrifice. But traveling the roads opened a detour opportunity: the Church of St. Claret, which we next visited
The Church had a figure of St. Joseph at the front...
... and St. Jude

When we left the church, we proceeded to the church in UP Diliman, the Church of the Holy Sacrifice. It was a circular church, and when we entered a Mass had just ended with the solemn procession of the Eucharist:

The Holy Sacrifice was the fourth church we visited, and we were optimistic about actually visiting fourteen churches. The next in our stop would be in Cubao, which I'd tackle in the next post.
